First, this is a series of books. There are several of them, I’ve lost count of how many, but they are all wonderful. Some might find them a slow read, but I have grown to love these characters and the lessons that are to be learned from them.

My Opinion: As I stated above, I love this series of books. I enjoy following Jane, Louise, and Alice as they turn their family home into an inn and love reading of their adventures in keeping it afloat. This particular book focused on Jane and her relationship with her mother who died shortly after giving birth. Jane knows very little of who her mother was as a person and this book follows her journey as she learns about her mother through other people and an old cookbook filled with her mother’s favorite recipes and side notes.

Now this is the kind of book I enjoy reading. As I also collect cookbooks to. I find it also interest the story behind finding the book as I also am interested in genealogy and the family history. I do believe family cookbook that are left to your family are a wonderful way to pass on traditions especially on holidays. I definately am going to put this book on my list of to reads. Thanks for the review.
