Jiva Cubes Review- The quickest cup of Java to go! @JivaCubes

Do you ever have a need for a cup of coffee now?  With no time to wait for the pot to percolate?  Or maybe you want coffee on the go when you’re out camping?  We do Civil War reenacting and well, some of those guys just don’t know how to make coffee.  Really, it’s horrid! I used to say I would never like instant coffee(I hate it) but these Jiva Cubes are really awesome!

I received a sample package of 24 assorted Jiva Cubes.  I received flavors in classic, caramel, hazelnut, hot chocolate, and caramel hot chocolate.  I have to say right here and now that when you get a box, you look at it.  I looked at my large unopened mailing box and smiled as I read the black Sharpie writing stating simply “Thank you”.  Got to love those companies that appreciate us!

Jiva Cubes
Cute unopened box of cubes.

They come in seven different flavors.  You can get classic, caramel, hazelnut, french vanilla, mocha, hot chocolate, or caramel hot chocolate.  Now for me I love caramel and chocolate, so anything with chocolate and caramel is okay with me! I also really like coffee.  Not weak coffee though. I’m a strong coffee drinker all the way!  I used to work nights as a nurse and learned how to make a “thick” cup of coffee.

My opened box of 24 Jiva Cubes.

For those like me who prefer to almost eat our coffee(yeap that strong) you’re going to want to use two of these cubes per 6 ounces of water or milk.  The directions have you place one cube in 4-6 ounces of liquid to dissolve for 30 seconds, stir, and enjoy.  Yeah even just one cube in 4 ounces was weak to me.  Had great flavor, but just not cutting it for me.  Even in my keurig I make a strong coffee.

So, I took one of the classic coffee and one of the caramel coffee.  Placed both of those in 6 ounces of warmed coconut milk(the canned kind that has cream on top) and followed the rest of the instructions.  This was heaven!  Seriously.  I would definitely be open to taking a box of each flavor with me camping.

Caramel Coffee
How to make the perfect cup of caramel coffee.

I tried the other flavors as well.  I have to say I’m not a fan of the hazelnut.  My husband did like it but that was after he added some creamer to it(I think he drinks creamer with a bit of coffee).  He was the recipient of the hot chocolates and enjoyed those as well.

These are perfect for travelling, they are small, they also are in my opinion, better for you.  They are naturally sweetened with Panela a type of unrefined brown sugar.  They are made from Fair Trade Columbian coffee as well.  I tend to only buy an organic, natural, fair trade coffee because I’m stuck up like that(well not really but I do try to only put good things in my body including good coffees) and I was pleased to see that these are Fair Trade certified for the coffee.  I did not see that they were organic or all natural, but their choice of sweetener does lend me to believe that they lean towards at least the all natural side of the coin.

I do want to mention that Jiva Cubes is working on bringing out a decaf and a strong version of each of their coffees!  This is great news for me.  You see, I am a coffee drinker,  a strong coffee drinker, but also sadly mostly a decaf coffee drinker because of breastfeeding right now.  For some reason, I frown on my baby receiving large doses of caffeine.  Probably because she doesn’t like to sleep already and I don’t want to deprive either of us of more sleep.

Please make sure to enter my GIVEAWAY to have a chance at winning your own sampling of Jiva Cubes as well as a complimentary Jiva coffee mug.  And remember, with great coffee comes great responsibility, no spills allowed!

I always used to say I wouldn’t like or use instant coffee, but there are days when I don’t have time to brew coffee. It sounds like Jiva Cubes are a much better option! I love to hear that they are naturally sweetened and Fair Trade! I definitely want to check them out!

Oh my gosh I want that little assorted pack of jiva cubes – in all decaf flavors. I would love to try them all. The fact that they are all Fair Trade is just a giant plus in my book.

I think that it is so neat that these are easier to fix than your standard cup of coffee. So packed with flavor too. Totally a neat concept for coffee.

Like you, I do prefer supporting businesses who use Fair Trade ingredients. Good to know that Jiva is naturally sweetened with unrefined sugar, too.

Jiva has become my new go-to int he mornings! With two children who like to wake up before the sun, it’s nice to have something quick and easy to make. I used to just go straight to soda, since I wouldn’t drink a whole pot, it seemed like a waste. Now, I have a different flavor coffee every morning and can decide the strength based on the children’s attitudes… lol.
