FlipStir Puzzles Reviews

We recently tried out a wonderful new product with the TOS Crew.  I’d never heard of it before or anything similar.  This is for fun on the go puzzle fun.  Think puzzles in the car and no I’m not crazy.  FlipStir Puzzles from Enlivenze LLC.  We received the Solar System puzzle and it’s been wonderful!!

FlipStir puzzles come in two different levels.  The Solar System puzzle we received is a Level 2.  So it’s a bit more difficult.  That being said my 9-year-old was the first to try the puzzle and it didn’t take him long at all to accomplish.  He really enjoyed the puzzle fun and kept doing it over and over.

The puzzles are self-contained.  There is no removing the pieces and placing them where you want.  Instead, you use a stick that has a small hook type feature on the end to move the ten pieces around and around until you get them in the order you need.  The tube the puzzle pieces are in is clear so you can see what you’re doing from all sides.  It’s challenging and it’s fun.

The puzzle fun can be had over and over by all members of the family.  Once the puzzle is done you simply shake to dislodge and redistribute the pieces.  Now it’s time to play again.  I would recommend a level 1 puzzle for younger members of the family.  While my nine-year old did not have a problem quickly completing the Level 2 solar system we received my five-year old tried it and had a harder time figuring out the puzzle.  It involves a great deal of hand eye coordination.

On the Go Puzzle Fun {TOS Crew Review}

Speaking of hand eye coordination, this is a great device to use if you have a child who needs occupational therapy for fine motor skill.  It really is going to help improve their hand eye coordination and work on those skills.  However, please start with a level 1 so they don’t get too frustrated too quickly.  My OT child did not want to work on this puzzle but maybe she would with a different one.

I chose the solar system from the available puzzles to help work with my children not only on their hand eye coordination but also on learning more about the solar system.  Putting the puzzle together helps them to learn the order of the planets in a fun and engaging way.

Right now there are four puzzles available to choose from.  The two level 1 puzzles are Tyrannosaurus Rex and Rainbow Pencils.  The other level 2 to go with our Solar System is the Statue of Liberty.  We’re really hoping that FlipStir comes out with more on the go puzzles so we can continue the puzzle fun.  After all, I now have 10 children so we need 10 different puzzles.  Well, at least in a few years we will.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Enlivenze LLC and their FlipStir puzzles to everyone.  Adults can even have fun doing the puzzle.  It’s a great busy hand activity and would be wonderful for occupying hands during lectures or church even when they get fidgety.  I’m not advocating that your child not pay attention at these times, but I do have a few kids who pay better attention when they are actively doing something with their hands.
