About the author:

My thoughts:
I fell in love with this book. I knew I had to read it first off because it was the South during Reconstruction. If you know me at all you know I reenact the Civil War and am a bit of an enthusiast in all things of the era. I fell in love with our heroine. I loved getting to know her better and watching her struggle with her love of a man and her love of her home. Which should come first to her and who should she strive to please, her father or the man she loved? Charlotte is a wonderful example of what a Southern belle was. She was not necessarily the spoiled little girl that movies want us to think of, but rather a woman with a backbone who felt real love to her “people”. I recommend this book. Find a copy and read it!
