Eclair Goes to Stella’s #bookreview #beckvalleybook

NEW RELEASE……..CHILDREN’S BOOK BY MICHELLE WEIDENBENNER

Hi, I’m Éclair and I’m seven. My sister Meggie is two. When mom got sick we had to go live with Stella, my dad’s mom, the one with maroon colored hair. I begged Dad not to make us stay with her because she beat her horse and was going to eat her rooster, but he didn’t believe me. Even after I pretended I was going to barf, he left us with Stella.

So there we were, Meggie and me, on a strange pink farm with a skinny horse, a mean rooster, and Stinky Stella who had a living room filled with dead deer heads.

What would she do to us?

Would we end up on her wall too?

“Do you want to name her?” Stella said.

I squeezed my eyes to think again. “Star. She looks like a movie star.”

I love it.” Stella reached up to give me a high-five. “Star, it is.”

I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

My thoughts:  These are not just my thoughts this time!  I welcome my daughter Bridgett to our review team.  She 9 years old and loves to read.  It doesn’t take her long to finish a book of this size(49 pages) and this one went fast as well.  She loved it!  First, as soon as the horse appeared she was in love.  We live on a farm and have horses and Bridgett has one horse that is special to her.  She was so happy that Eclair was going to have a horse of her own.  Though when Lightning(what Eclair names the horse) colics it made her cry because we lost my favorite horse to colic last year.  Bridgett was ecstatic that the sweet horse lived!  Of course, this book does have some twists and turns just more suited for children.  Eclair does not want to live with her grandmother(who wants to be called Stella) because her mom has to go away and her dad travels for work.  She doesn’t want to stay with strange Stella who she thinks might not like animals but rather KILLS them!  Find out what happens to make her trust Stella and the fun they have on the farm!

Yes! I know I would have loved to grow up on a farm with horses. My kids think they have it pretty awesome and I’m so happy we can give them this experience.

Wait! What? You are a mom of nine and you have time to help authors find readers? Impressive! Your farm sounds great!

Tell Bridgett that I said THANKS for reading Eclair’s story. She made my day! I’m thrilled that she enjoyed the book and could read it too. (I love her name.) I hope she’ll read the next one in the series that I hope to launch in late fall. Eclair Meets a Gypsy–Does Bridgett know what Gypsy Vanner horses look like? They’re beautiful!

We are huge horse people here and those are one of the breeds she loves and wants! My girl loves her fancy animals. 🙂 She can’t wait for the next one to come out. She loves to read and will read several chapter books in a day if we let her.

It’s nice to get a young one’s view. I even enjoyed it myself.
