Sunday Verse
I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” Psalm 18:1-2 KJV
Wow! Really just wow is all I can say at first about this verse. Just look at it. God is everything. He is our all. Isn’t this what the verse is saying? Isn’t this verse telling us some of the things God is? He is everything.
It’s not a give and take relationship. It isn’t if we love Him, He will be. . . . it’s He is period. Because we have become His children, because we trust in Him, He is everything to us and we can call on Him whenever we need Him. That is such a wonderful feeling isn’t it?! To know that God is there 24/7 for us. That all we have to do is call out to Him and He hears us and is there beside us ready to help us.
When we are weak He is there to hold us up and keep us strong. When we falter in our walk He is there to keep us going. All we have to do is cling to Him and He will help us and deliver us. We can hide in Him when we need refuge. We can use Him as our shield against the evils of the world. In Him we stand apart from the world.
I for one am very grateful that God will be all these things to me no matter what I do. I can screw up and He will still be there when I call. He will never give up on me, even if I might give up on Him for a while. God is good all the time, whether we are or not.
In a party word, God can only do for us what we let Him. If we do not let Him be our all in all, He cannot be.

Thanks Jenni. I needed that this morning. It’s so hard sometimes keeping focused on Him. He must be our delight and the source of our joy.
Psalm 37:3-5
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
Do you ever listen to John Piper?

I haven’t heard of John Piper before. I’ll have to look him up. I listen to a lot of children’s music right now. Our favorite is children’s praise music.
