My thoughts: I honestly have to say that I knew next to nothing about Hawaii or their culture other than what I’ve seen in movies. I love the research that went into the book and how much I learned. The quilt was darling(well in my imagination at least). I loved the story line and fell in love with the characters. There is so much insecurity in not knowing where you came from even if you were showered with love. As adoptive parents we know this. I can’t say as an adopted adult(I’m not adopted) what those feelings would be like, but I do think everyone whether adopted or not has moments where they hide behind glasses as our main character Laney does.
