My Thoughts on Killer Harvest:

Wow.  This is an intense book!  It’s short thankfully or you’d be staying up way too late trying to get it finished before you went to bed and then not able to sleep because of all the suspense and what-ifs!

Sassa is a single parent of a gorgeous little girl.  Jared De Luca is assigned to figure out this case and protect not only Sassa but her sweet little girl and family.  Both of our lead characters are divorced which we don’t see very often in novels like this.

I have a bit of a science background and really enjoyed the science behind what the book was talking about.  The idea that a pathogen could be unleashed on our crops and the effects of that are huge!  Makes you hope this doesn’t happen in real life anytime soon.  Crazy scary there!  I live in the midwest where all the crops are grown which then brought all the questions of what are the effects on people breathing it in?  How will it work when people eat it?  Just all the random middle of the night musings hitting my head!

This is a book I highly recommend.  Great beginning.  Reads fast.  You won’t want to put it down.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. More from Tanya

As a teenager, I spent my summers water-skiing on the King’s River in Central California. Even though we lived on the coast and the ocean, we travelled inland to the smooth river waters every other weekend for our sport. We camped on a sandy beach, skimmed over the water all day long and at night sat under a sky full of brilliant stars and listened to the sound of the water rippling past.

Since we lived on the coast with a heavy marine layer, the amazing sky always fascinated me. Surrounded by massive cottonwood trees, with the smell of ripe fruit drifting toward us, my river experiences were different from home and more than memorable. On some nights we’d hear the splash and laughter as teenagers, somewhere across the river, came down to swim.

I always wondered what it would be like to live in the nearby small, neat-as-a-pin town, to know the same people all of my life and to be able to drive down to the river with my friends on any given night. Always I envied those teenagers and knew I’d someday write a story about central California. I didn’t know it would involve biological warfare and crazed killers…but that transition is another story all its own! I’ll stop here and hope you enjoy Killer Harvest!
