If it ain’t broke, why’s she so intent on fixing it?
Tessa Booker hates romance.
For 25 years, Tessa Booker has insisted that romance is something Hollywood cooked up to sell books and movies. Yes, she knows the word existed before movies. She doesn’t care. That’s her story, and she’s sticking to it.
So, when Ross gets a gentle nudge from Mallory Barrows to look into what Tessa’s doing every day while he’s at work, he discovers a romance in the works – one that sounds a little too “ripped from the pages of his life”!
Who is this woman, and what has she done with his wife?
Armed with advice from 101 Ways to Romance Your Wife and a copy of the manuscript he printed while she was napping, he’s determined to figure out what’s up with his wife…and if maybe a little romance wouldn’t be a good thing, after all.
In a twist of the “on the rocks trope”, this book introduces the next island in the Independence Islands series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily ever afters.

My Thoughts on Bookers on the Rocks Audiobook
This entire series is amazing. I have loved reading it and always pick up the new book as soon as it arrives to devour it. Because I love the whole series I’m going to say read them in order. This is because you will meet characters that you see popping up throughout the other books.
These books can be read as stand-alone books but you get so much more back knowledge of the characters by reading the whole series in order.
In this book, we get to meet and get to know Tessa and Ross Bookers. They both love to read and have been married for a long time. They’ve raised their children who are off on their own. But now Tessa isn’t quite sure what to do. She feels that maybe her husband isn’t so in love with her or maybe that romance is more than she’s always said it’s cracked up to be. Things she used to love and accept about her husband are now getting on her nerves.
As Tessa begins to work on something that could be a passion of hers, Ross feels that maybe his wife is having an affair, or something is wrong!
The book gets better as we find a woman escaping an abusive relationship with her son. When things get deadly we see what real romance really is.
I highly recommend this book. I love the play between the characters and getting to see old favorites like Mallory again. And of course, who could hate a book centered on books?! Get a copy of this book and read it as quickly as you can. You’re going to love it.
The audiobook version of this great book is so wonderful too. I love the narrator’s voice. It definitely doesn’t put me to sleep which is a high recommendation! Audiobooks tend to put me to sleep but this one is just as good as the book.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received through Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
