My thoughts on Love’s New Beginnings

Love’s New Beginnings is a wonderful historical fiction novel that takes place prior to two other novels I’ve read and loved!  This comes before Forgotten Memories which I’ve had the pleasure of reading and reviewing as well.  

I love this author and her historical fiction novels.  They bring you back in time and keep you there.  Sometimes it takes a few minutes to realize you’re really still here in the modern day when you pop out of the book to resume normal life!  

Okay, the actual book.  I laughed so much!  A preacher was charged with doing a prank on the new school teacher.  First, why is this a tradition that adults do?  And second, hilarity ensues!!  Of course, the new school teacher is not an old and cranky lady but instead a young woman new to the community!

Let the games begin!  Oh my.  It read so fast!  I would definitely read this one again!

Stagecoach etiquette, a casket for sale in the mercantile, and mock turtle soup were just a few of the items included in Love’s New Beginnings. Research is always fun for historical novels, and I even discovered that some people ate skunks back in the “olden days.” Not a traditional delicatessen, but they did eat them on occasion. After reading about the ingredients for mock turtle soup and discovering skunks for dinner (aka supper), I’m even more grateful for enchiladas and regular plain ol’ hamburgers. Historical romance novels are a delight to read, but is Love’s New Beginnings the book for you?
