A struggle to earn forgiveness and find redemption.
A spoiled, irreverent, prankster, Prince Shane waits for the day he’ll wear the crown. Days before receiving his spurs making him a knight, Shane learns he isn’t his parent’s child. He embarks on a journey to discover the truth and keep the crown. But his search digs up an evil that threatens his family, and his very soul. Shane struggles to put things right and earn redemption.
Marg runs her late husband’s tavern hidden in a distant corner of the kingdom. She’s trying to forget her past and the blood on her hands. My Thoughts on Rebel’s Son:
This was a really good book. I’ve not read any others by this author but really enjoyed her style. It definitely was different than what I normally read.
One reason that it is different from what I normally read is the aspect of good vs evil that was brought up. Most books that I read have a line of good versus evil in them and of course good always wins. This book was different in how the battle is fought.
In Rebel’s Son, good versus evil includes the devil among us and God within us. The devil and evil is real, we all know this but in this book, you can see the evil around and it can hurt you. But God is within you and can give you the power to fight and win over evil.
Really great read! Definitely not one that I would have just picked up off a shelf and read but now I’m glad I requested and read this book and really want to check out the rest of the series too.
The storyline isn’t hard to follow. Characters are well developed and engaging. I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next and how they were going to respond. Quickly I found myself invested in their stories and lives.
Prince Shane is so spoiled. He has no real value in himself as a person and doesn’t value people either. Because he will one day rule the throne he feels he is above all, maybe even above God. Follow him as he learns who he truly is and lives life differently.
In his quest to find out who he is and what kind of a man he is, Prince Shane meets Marg. I have to say I love her character and enjoyed getting to know her back story.
