The Still Small Voice Leads the Way

Because of their faith, twelve-year-old Lauren and her younger brothers, Aiden and Ethan, prevailed in the battle for the Tower of Light. But their victory did not stop the Dark One. Darkness continues to spread across Zoura’s frontier.

Now, in a vision, Mother tells them to light a second tower in Blooming Glen. Before they can set out on their journey with the Knight Protector, their Uncle arrives with a different set of instructions. He doesn’t trust the Knight Protector or the Mighty Mercenaries and believes the children should go to grandma’s house instead.

Unyielding in his belief, Uncle unknowingly leads the children off their path. And a misguided acolyte follows them. Lurking in the shadows, he strikes at every opportunity as the dark forces prepare to descend.

Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan are Zoura’s last defense. Can they convince their Uncle of the truth—that he must listen to the still small voice—and make it to Blooming Glen before the Dark One’s forces overtake them?

My Thoughts on Still Small Voice:

This is a middle-grade fantasy type Christian fiction novel.  It is the second book in a series.  We were fortunate to be able to review the first book in the series as well.  They are best read as a series in the order they were written for the most understanding and enjoyment.

As school starts back up we tend to add an extra read aloud to our daily schedule.  The Towers of Light series has been amazing.  My kids sit still to listen to it and are totally enthralled.  The older ones also have read it on their own but they still sit to listen.

Book two takes you further and expands on what happens in book one.  You can read my review of book one Light of Mine to find out about it.

This is a great series about the power of light versus darkness.  In this book, the children’s uncle shows up and tries to lead them off their path.  He thinks they should go to safety and stay out of the fight.  Their faith wavers and they leave their path because they allow his voice to draw them from where they know they should be.

The allegories in this book are wonderful!  I love that even adults can glean something from the book and it’s a wonderful way of telling and showing how things can apply to the Bible and our faith as well as the modern world when really children think they’re just reading a riveting fiction book.

I am very picky of what books I allow to stay on our shelves.  We have limited shelf space in our small home.  This series will remain on our shelves for all of my children to read.  Also, even if I don’t get the chance to review the rest of the series we will be adding them to our collection.  Grab a copy of this series and read it!  You won’t regret this decision.

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.

Five of the tour stops are interviews where he shares what he learned at different historical locations as well as his inspiration for the second book which focuses in listing for the Holy Spirit’s still small voice.

Louder than ever before, the message of listening to the holy spirit’s still small voice resonates with an urgency that demands action.

Filled with mystery, action, family bonds, and a healthy dose of animal friends this second book in the Tower of Light Series is a fantastic continuation of the journey of siblings Lauren, Aiden, and Ethan. Thank you so much for your honest review. It warms my heart to know your family enjoyed the story across many different ages. Since your family is such a fan of the series, I’d like to know if you and your children would like to see Uncle take a bigger role in book 3 or be more of a side character to come back for book 4 or 5? God willing book 3, Fear No Evil will be complete in August and on the shelf in December. You and your readers can watch for updates at https://www.lightofmine.net/fearnoevil

My kids can’t wait for it to come out! My oldest ones say he should go to the side and come back in a larger role to be vanquished later on.
