About the Book Mackinac Island Beacon
Plans hatched in 1897 bring friends and family from far distances toward Mackinac Island’s new twin beacons—the Round Island Lighthouse and the Social Affirmation Society’s training/retreat center. A missing daughter, a missing godchild—two young women’s lives have intertwined in ways they could never have known. The solution to both of their mysteries is revealed when all hope has been lost by those seeking them.
Is romance out of the question for Val and Susan, when their hearts begin to heal? Will Paul and Lawrence, friends from their childhoods, brought to the island for work, be their beacons of hope? Can God bring all their paths together or will too many obstacles stand in their way?

My Thoughts on Mackinac Island Beacon
Romance? History? Mystery? Smidges of suspense? What could go wrong? Or be better even?!
I love all of these things combined. Historical fiction has long been my favorite genre. And suspense. So if you can add them together into one book I am sold and will be reading it! Add in lighthouses and I’m over the moon. I’ve always wanted to visit lighthouses and this made me feel like I was getting a remote visit!
A missing woman and a missing godchild. Where could they be? Can they be found before it’s too late? And can romance have a small space in all of this?
Our two main characters are wonderful. Well, I want to say four main characters really, but two were my favorites. Watching them reconnect and seeing their relationships grow was so much fun. And visiting an island that I’ve had on my wishlist for, well always, was so much fun.
This is the third book in a series. As always, I advocate reading them in order. However, this could be read as a stand-alone novel if you so choose. But then you’re going to want to go back and read the other two. Trust me. You will.
