My Thoughts on A Wealth Beyond Riches

Sasha just wants to be loved. She wants to belong. It’s not on the stage like her mother that she finds her true happiness. Neither is it with a different boyfriend every week. When her mother chooses to spend her 18th birthday with her boyfriend, who has just proposed, Sasha is hurt and spends the night alone. But then she is faced with her rooms now costing more as her mother has left to go to England. Without telling Sasha. Well, she left a note.

But more important than the note is the news that she has an uncle! She’s often wished for family. And while she’d rather learn who her father is, an uncle to meet is almost as good. So off she sets to go to him. Hoping he still lives at the address her mother gives.

Along the road, she encounters men who want to be with her for her beauty and some ruffians, too. So she adopts one of her disguises or costumes from her stage days. She’s a makeup artist by trade.

She becomes an old woman.

A kind man rescues her at the hotel when two ruffians break into her hotel room, and then she hides and starts walking as an old woman the next morning. And it just keeps getting better from there.

I don’t want to give too much away. But this is such a wonderful novel as Sasha works to find herself not just in who she is through the world’s eyes but also through God’s.
