Prompt:  Your worst cooking disaster

Hmm, my worst cooking disaster would have to be when I was 7 years old.  I was allowed to make chocolate chip cookies all by myself for the first time.  I was so proud of myself.  I worked really hard and didn’t even stop to taste test the dough.  I got the first batch of cookies out of the oven and immediately took one to my mom to try.  When she made a face and said they weren’t any good I thought she was teasing as my family does that a lot.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t.  They really were horrible.  I had misread the recipe and used 1 CUP of Baking Soda instead of 1 tsp.  It was so bitter and gross.  I threw that batch away and immediately made a new batch which was edible.  To this day my family still teases me about my cooking disaster.
