My Thoughts on Shielding the Amish Witness

Wow.  This book is intense.  From the moment you read the opening sentence until you finish the book, you’re going to be non-stop into it.  You will have to keep reading because you can’t seem to tear your eyes off the pages.  

As the title implies this is not your standard Amish fiction.  Well, I mean it does have two people who might have had a life together in the Amish community if Faith had not left as a child with her parents.  She and Eli had a bond.  But can that past bond save them all now?  Or did Faith just bring death to all their doors? 

So, Faith’s dad wasn’t happy Amish and he had them leave the community.  Not that uncommon.  The uncommon part comes when he makes Faith believe that his parents, her grandparents, are dead.  She thinks she has no connection left to the community she once loved. 

That is until one day when she finds out that all that she believed was a lie.  And we’re not just talking about her Amish past and relatives now.  We’re talking about her dead husband who was actually involved in some pretty underhanded things.  And his brother. 

Now that brother is out to kill Faith because she knows what he’s been doing.  He killed his own wife in front of her so she knows what he’s capable of.  When she flees she runs to the only safe spot she’s known.   Her Amish community.  But now with death beating at her door(literally) she wonders if she did the right thing. 

This is a wonderful fast-paced book and I hope you get the chance to read it.  I really loved it and think you will too.
