Encouragement for Your Day
Encouragement for Your Day
Homeschool Review Crew
Have you ever wished you could just get a letter in the mail from God letting you know what you’re supposed to do? I think we all have. We all get confused and worried, or even unsure that God is really doing what is best for us. Here’s some good news! God is always on your side and we’ve been reading a great book lately to help us remember that. God’s Mail will give you some positive encouragement for your day in this journey of life we’re on. We received a physical copy of God’s Mail Volume 3 book as part of a review with the Homeschool Review Crew.
About the Book
This book combines both scriptures and poems to provide encouragement for your day. If each day you only read one poem this book will last you almost a year.
When you open the book to a page in the middle you’ll find a list of scriptures on the left page and a poem on the right page. These are focused on the same concept so the scriptures are supporting the poem’s message. I like how this is done.
The scriptures are in several different translations. You might have five or six different verses on the page from that same number of different translations. So while not all of the verses are from KJV I do find that there are several. But there are also verses from the TLB, NKJV, NIV, AMP, MSG, and others. For those verses that aren’t in my preferred version, it’s very easy to look them up.
Right at the beginning of the book are several endorsements. I like how this book instead of just giving endorsements, it also introduces you to the people who are doing the endorsing so you can know where they’re coming from.
About the Author
Ron Hardin has a very unique testimony to share with the people. He was saved as a young teen but then walked a rough path before coming back to the Lord. Ron has written over 500 poems and is now sharing them with the world through this book of encouragement for your day.
He has currently written three volumes of God’s Mail. We only received the third volume so I can’t tell you about the first two but if they’re the same as this one they’re full of good words.
In his third book, he tackles some hard topics through poetry such as abortion and recovering from drug abuse.
Our Thoughts
I love the scriptures. That’s probably more of a favorite for me than the poems. I do love poetry and they are good poems, but there is nothing like having a list of scriptures covering a topic that maybe you’re struggling with.
A favorite thing of mine to do is write out the scriptures on a piece of paper in my preferred version. This gives me something to look back on and read throughout the day or week as I need a bit of encouragement. This is why I really think this book is a great book of scriptures and poems to bring encouragement for your day.
The pages are nice, the quality of the book is great. There are some black and white or maybe charcoal type drawings underlaid behind the print of the book. So it doesn’t interfere with reading, but it’s a nice break up of just the black and white print on the page.
