Cassy plans to avoid marriage at all costs.  But what if it is what she must do?  Cassandra is forced with a season in London but all she can think about is reaching her majority and getting her inheritance.  Without marrying before then that is.  Because she does not need a man or a husband. 

But Cassandra is also a fossil collector and loves geology.  Through this, she meets (or remeets) Rothbury and it starts to move quickly from there.  He agrees with her about love to a point.  He believes in a marriage of convenience and not one of love.  But when judgement starts to get clouded things begin to spice up a bit. 

I like that this isn’t just a sappy romance novel.  It’s also a historical fiction piece and it actually has some history in it!  You’ll find several historical figures getting cameos and I love that.  It invites people to dig deeper and love history and I’m always a fan of that. 

While this isn’t a super-fast read it does move along.  I did enjoy both characters, especially towards the end.  Rothbury starts off as a stick in the mud and isn’t very fun but once he opens up I really supported him for supporting Cassandra. 

Definitely, a book that I can recommend and I hope you give it a read.
