BUCK Academy
Do you have children who are earning money? If you’re looking for something to help with teaching children about money check out BUCK Academy and their line of books. We recently received a copy of BUCK, FIRST BUCK ACCOUNT as part of the Homeschool Review Crew. It’s written by Dustin Goss and illustrated by Febyolla Goss.
About the Books
BUCK Academy offers a variety of books. They all focus on teaching children about money though. Whether it’s how to start your first bank account or what the value of money is, they are read easily and are perfect for young readers.
We received a physical copy of this book. A fun fact, BUCK Academy is giving back! For every book that is purchased, they will be donating a portion of the proceeds towards getting books in the hands of children by donating to a child, library, or school in need.
Our Thoughts
This is a cute book. We have previously reviewed other books through BUCK Academy (read those reviews HERE) and knew that we would enjoy this one. This is a paperback book. The cover is in color and eye-catching. My kids saw the book arrive and of course, they grabbed it right away to read. Size wise I would equate it to standard notebook size.
One of the problems we normally have with paperback books is that the covers are thin and tear or rip easily. This cover is made of better stuff than that and does not seem to rip. I actually tried to rip a corner of it and it didn’t rip! I’m excited about this as it means it has longevity and will be staying in our home library for quite some time.
There are 25 pages within the book.
I love how the book writes out step by step what they can expect when they open their first bank account. We read this as a family. That allowed my older children who have bank accounts to talk to the younger children who still need to set up accounts. Through this, they were able to say whether this totally applied to our bank or if something was different.
We have long taught our children the value of money and saving money. It’s very nice to have a book that also promotes those stewardship ideas. My kids have enjoyed reading this book and it’s spent quite a bit of time within hands. I have a feeling as the little ones grow older that it will continue to get read quite a bit as well.
This would be a great book to give as a gift. It’s great quality and well written.
