My Thoughts on Chain of Mercy

Chain of Mercy is the first book in a new series and a wonderful Christian romantic fiction novel for everyone to read.  I’ve read several books by this author, Brenda S. Anderson, and knew that this book would be another wonderful one.  

It read quickly.  I really enjoyed the characters.  They seemed to have a lot of depth to them instead of just being one dimensional things on a page they seemed to leap out and act out the scenes in front of me. 

Grace and Forgiveness.  

Those are the two main themes in this novel.  Not only that we should forgive others, but that we should forgive ourselves and allow ourselves to be forgiven by others.  Too many times we hold onto our own feelings of guilt instead of forgiving ourselves and giving us freedom from it.  The same can be said for grace. 

The author did a good job showing both through this novel.  

While I don’t have an issue with this novel I do want you to know that it talks about abortion in it.  It also talks about what might happen to someone after an abortion through how they feel, think, act, etc.  If that’s something that causes you to have issues please do not pick up this book.  While I feel strongly about abortion I did not have a problem reading this book.  I felt it was done well and tastefully.  The author handled a hard topic with grace and did a wonderful job in my opinion.
