More, she’s wondering if her friendship with Dr. Jonah Harris, an ex-ER doctor turned medical examiner, might be more. But he has his own demons to fight—namely guilt over the death of his wife.

So, maybe not.

Meanwhile, Jonah can’t ignore the growing desire he feels for Noelle. If only he knew he wasn’t going to destroy their friendship…

And then, tragedy strikes—the sudden death of a colleague rocks his world, and Jonah knows that there’s more to the incident than meets the eye. In fact, he may have been the intended target. Now he needs Noelle…not just as a friend, but as a protector.

Noelle will have to protect Jonah, while not letting their friendship spark into something more, and Jonah will have to unravel the threat that stalks him. Clues lead them down a dark path, revealing unsettling connections to a series of unsolved crimes. And when they stumble upon the chilling possibility of a serial killer lurking in the shadows, all Noelle’s nightmares come back to life.

Then the unthinkable occurs—the killer strikes again, targeting someone close to them. Noelle and Jonah race against time to expose the truth and capture the killer…and when their friendship becomes something deeper, it’s clear they have everything to lose.

Don’t miss this gripping story of resilience, trust, and the power of love in the exhilarating second book of the Elite Guardians: Savannah.

My Thoughts on Hunting Justice

This is book two in the Elite Guardians of Savannah book series.  You definitely need to read book one first.  Otherwise, you’ll have missed out on a lot of dynamics that make the story better.  You would also benefit from reading the original Guardian series.  Oh, and there are a few novellas as well.  They’re all amazing.  If you can’t tell I’m biased and have loved all of the series so want you to love them as well.

Okay.  For some actual about this novel.

In this book, we focus on Noelle.  She survived a serial killer as a teen.  It has shaped her.  Not only her self-worth but also how she presents her body to others.  And her security is also a huge deal because of this.  Nobody close to her knows about this.  No one except her therapist and her mom.  Nobody that is until she reveals it to Doc.  Or Jonah as Noelle calls him.

Doc has some major issues of his own after he’s blown across a yard going to see his friend who has a confession to make.  He didn’t get to hear his friend’s confession as he died from the blast.  But the interesting fact is that the friend was shot first.

Now someone is after Jonah and Noelle is going to protect him.

But what happens when the serial killer case that Noelle is fixated on (her own serial killer) becomes linked to the current case that Jonah is messed up in?  Noelle has a whole room dedicated to all of the victims of her serial killer. She’s told Jonah she’s working a cold case but not why it’s special to her.  None of her friends even know of the case.

As Noelle has to open up and allow others in can she heal from the trauma of her attack?  Can she overcome the damage that has been done?  And can she maybe allow herself to fall in love?

As for Jonah, can he stay alive long enough to forgive himself for his wife’s death?  Can he just stay alive?  And will he allow himself to acknowledge his feelings for Noelle and say he is worthy?
