About the Author of The Alcuin Letter
Jeff Raymond comes from a publication-oriented family, as both his father and older brother had accomplished careers in the newspaper business. He has had numerous articles published and has won awards for both writing and publication design. His debut novel, The Medici Quest, was honoured with a Pencraft Award for Best Christian Fiction Book in the summer of 2024.
Raymond graduated from Taylor University in Indiana, where he was a member of the track team. He also spent a year writing for the university newspaper and worked as a colour commentator for basketball broadcasts. He went on to earn a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia.
In addition to writing, Raymond has an interest in history, including Biblical history and the origins of the Bible. He has a growing collection of Olympic Games memorabilia, is a member of his church’s Worship Team. His interest in travel has allowed him to visit several international locations, both as a tourist and as part of short-term mission trips.

My Thoughts on The Alcuin Letter
The Alcuin Letter is book two in a fun fast-paced suspense series that takes history and breathes new life into it. If you’re looking for a fun new novel I highly recommend this one. However, I would also recommend that you read book one in the series before you tackle this one. Not saying you have to, but just saying it would be worth your while.
This is a wonderful novel. It’s suspense and mystery all packed into one! I’m a huge fan of suspense. Anything with suspense I’m going to give it a go. Add in a good mystery and I’ll be hooked. Mostly. And well, this is one of those books that I was for sure hooked on. Could not put it down.
The characters are wonderful.
They pull at your heartstrings. Little children, and a widowed father, are just the tip of the iceberg. There are lots of characters. And we get to see the story through each of their point of view.
But what makes this an absolutely wonderful book for me? History! I’m a history nerd and this book filled that need for me. I’ll definitely be waiting for a third book in this series. Yes, this is book two. You should definitely read the first book first.
