My Thoughts on An Ode to Poison

An Ode to Poison is a fun surprise and suspense-around-every-corner type of mystery novel that you’ll love to read.  It’s also book three in a series. It’s also an ancient type of book.  As in we’re on our way to Rome.  Rome in the ancient times.  After Christ but not by much.  It’s a heavily faith-based book.  It makes you think about what life was like for people who were some of the first Christians and how hard that might have been to prove or convince people.  

This is probably the only series I’ve read like this one.  It’s unique.  And wow is it fun to read!  The mystery is truly a mystery and you have to really think and weave through the information to try to figure out who is doing it.   Add in what life might have been for some of the first Christians.

  I’m all in. 

The mystery and suspense is top-notch.  You will not want to put down this book.  Here is the problem.  You do need to read this series in order.  They do build on each other.  And while you might be able to make the book make sense without reading the first two you’re not going to want to.

I truly enjoyed these characters.  They were engaging.  They really drew me in.  And I didn’t want to let some of them go.  Now, there are some that you really do want to see go or get their just rewards.  And that is wonderful because the author did such an amazing job making them unloveable. 

If you are a fan of Christian suspense and mystery in your books I highly recommend you try out this series.
