Her first move is to find the missing fairy princess before it becomes an interkingdom war. They form a search party and leave.

The Erlking stalks their every move. When the only choice points them toward the Riven, a cursed hidden land, they don’t hesitate. They find Glory is already there, but are immediately separated. The Riven is nothing like anyone imagined. Will they survive the Erlking’s magical traps, or will they, like everyone else, perish within its borders?

My Thoughts on Tatterhood

Tatterhood is a sweet middle-grade fantasy edge-of-your-seat type story that you’ll love. It’s also the third book in a series.  This series should be read in order but if you absolutely can’t this can be read as a stand-alone novel.  

There is something to be said for our younger people to read books where the good triumphs.  Because so often in our actual world it doesn’t.  Bad wins.  Evil triumphs.  It happens more than we’d like. 

This novel gives a wonderful hideaway from the world around them.  Because I firmly believe everyone needs a place they can get away to and books open up an amazing world for everyone.  

The characters are wonderful.  They may not live in our world but they face problems like us.  They have to grow up and face their own worlds even if that’s not the world we’re a part of.  A Troll princess must figure out what her world will be like when she’s Queen.  

Friendships must be forged and alliances made.  Good must find out how to triumph over evil.  The book reads quickly.  It held my attention and made me want to keep reading.  This surprised me honestly since (1) I’m an adult and (2) I am not a normal lover of fantasy novels.  I fully support this series though and all of my kids adore it.  It’s made an amazing read-aloud.
