My Thoughts on Duets
Duets is a young adult fiction novel that gets into some of the struggles that modern young adults have and can relate to. Candy is the fifteen-year-old in this novel. And she feels like no one understands her. I think it’s normal to feel like that when you’re a teenager but not everything in this book is normal!
Her parents are picture-perfect. At least on paper or on social media as it may be. They’ve made themselves millionaires. They live in a mansion. Life is perfect. But is it ever really perfect?
This is a dual point-of-view story. Which means you’ll read this book from two different perspectives. Candy is one obviously, but the other is her mother Leslie. Leslie is going through some things. There’s a darkness threatening to consume her. She’s pregnant and it’s a tough one.
Oh and did I mention that Candy is musical? Or that she’s homeschooled?
I loved getting to know both characters and finding out more about them. This is a prequel to a series so buckle up for the fun to continue.
