My Thoughts on A Time of Proving

I love a good historical fiction novel!  And of course, this one did not disappoint.  A Time of Proving is a wonderful historical fiction novel that you need to read whether as a stand-alone novel or as part of a series. I always advocate for reading as many books as possible so of course I’m going to say read the other ones first and then this one.  But if you’re crunched for time, you can read this one and then later go back and read the others.

I’m from a small town, so of course I loved the small town feel of this novel.  Plus it takes place in Nebraska.  I’m a Missouri gal but live less than 15 minutes from the border to Nebraska, and my husband was born and raised in Nebraska, so I love reading novels set there.

Now, here’s where it gets fun.

This is a romance novel.  This is a historical fiction novel.  But this also has some mystery and some suspense thrown in for good measure. Oh, and it has some comic relief as well.  In total, it is a delightful read that you’re going to love!

Miriam and her siblings were split up after their parents died.  There’s a man determined to marry Miriam, and she’s determined not to.  Add in Jase, who is a wonderful character, and he jumps in to help her, causing things to be set in motion.

This is one of those novels that once you start reading, you’re not going to want to stop!
