What happens when fiction becomes reality?
In the corruption-infested Queen City, danger lurks in every shadow, but Lydia Pelton refuses to stay silent. She writes under a pseudonym, E. A. Dupin, crafting crime novels to exact justice and right the wrongs she sees in society. When a serial killer decides to be the sword to her pen, Lydia is confronted with the consequences of her words.
Four men are dead, and the city blames her.
With murders on the rise, Officer Abraham Hall’s only lead is Lydia’s fiction, and he is thrust into an investigation with the “Killer Queen of Romance.” Despite his misgivings about the woman, he realizes that even with his reputation for catching elusive criminals, he needs her help. But his unexpected attraction to Lydia proves as difficult to manage as the woman herself.
As the mystery unfolds, Abraham and Lydia race to rewrite the ending, not only for Cincinnati’s citizens, but for their own hearts too.

My Thoughts on Written In Secret
Written in Secret is book one of a new series that you’re going to love! Fiction becomes reality and an author must team up with law enforcement. This was a fun, fast-paced, and mysterious historical fiction novel.
The historical fiction portion is the Gilded Age. It’s a fun time period to read about. I loved reading this novel and seeing who might be making the fiction novels come to life.
Do you normally laugh at suspenseful books? Well, I did in this one! Our heroine, Lydia, is an author who writes under a pen name. And our hero is a police officer Abraham. Abraham joins forces with Lydia to find out who could be using her novels for their crime spree. I loved the characters. They’re fresh and wonderful. They’re also easy to love and see them get to know each other while solving the crime.
Lydia’s books are based on true events. That’s part of the reason for the pen name. She’s calling out criminals that corruption is letting run rampant Our villain is a vigilante making sure justice is served.
This is one of those books that you are hooked on and cannot put down until the end. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!
