My Thoughts on Grandpa’s Comrade

This is a fun young adult Christian fiction novel.  But it’s not limited to the young, as any adult could read and enjoy this book.  I’m an adult, I even have adult children, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well.

This was such a fun book.  It read quickly.  The characters were engaging and really made me want to continue reading. I needed to know what they found out and how the story progressed.  

Will and Jess go to stay with their grandpa as their parents go on a second honeymoon.  While there, they uncover some secrets.  Grandpa also suffers from PTSD, which is a main part of the storyline.  

As an owner of a former PTSD service dog, I’ve had to learn a lot about PTSD in humans and how their animals help or react to them.  I’m also a nurse who has worked in the mental health field.  So, this part of the novel was especially interesting to me.

I loved the mystery and suspense as they set out to find the long-lost comrade.  The bits of history were great as well.  I really think this was a well-written novel and I do recommend it and would read it again.
