My Thoughts on Not Exactly Mr Darcy

Not Exactly Mr Darcy is a sweet romantic comedy with ties to one of the greatest pieces of fiction work ever.  I mean, everyone thinks about that, right?!  That Pride and Prejudice is one of the best novels of all time.  You agree, right?  Of course you do.  Because it’s an indisputable fact.  Carry on.  

I love history, so of course, I loved that Olivia is a history lover too.  And of course, I loved that there is a major book reference too.  Because I’m a book nerd, if you couldn’t tell by the number of books I read and review.  If you don’t know how many, just take a peek at my Goodreads or my blog.  It’s extensive. 

This is the first book in a series.  Each book is going to focus on a different Aussie character who is named after an Austen character!  So from that, you can deduce Olivia Bennett is the Australian granddaughter come to help out her British Gran.  I loved the English countryside descriptions as well as the  Hall descriptions. 

Oh, and the gardener!  He’s our Mr Darcy in a sense, with all of his surly nature and disagreeableness.   You’re going to love getting to know both of these characters and seeing what becomes of them.  And you’re going to need the sequels as well.  I know I’m eagerly awaiting them.

Carolyn Miller is an inspirational Regency and contemporary romance author who lives in the beautiful Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia, with her husband and four children. Together with her husband, she has pastored a church for ten years and worked as a public high school English and Learning and Support teacher.

A longtime lover of romance, especially that of Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer’s Regency era, Carolyn holds a BA in English Literature and loves drawing readers into fictional worlds that show the truth of God’s grace in our lives.
