My Thoughts on Fatal Past

Fatal Past is a wonderful Christian suspense with some twists and turns that you may or may not see coming! Could not put this one down!

Eve left her home in Boston to be a pediatrician in Virginia in a small town.  In that leaving she also left her aunt and uncle and their oppressive home.  She was not treated well while she lived with them.  And she has one huge secret that she’s always kept but maybe her truth isn’t the real truth?

When she stops a kidnapping attempt on young Ethan she soon learns that he is the son of her former boyfriend.  Well, the adopted son of old boyfriend because he’s the biological son of Jefferson’s twin brother.  And yes there is a lot of backstory and history that you will be fed bits of as you need it.  It really adds to the suspense in the story as things start coming out of the woodwork.

But this attempt that Eve stopped is definitely not over as someone keeps trying.  Jefferson and Eve must race against the clock to find out who and why they’re being targetted and how to get ahead of them to protect Ethan.

More from Sarah

Life has a funny way of mirroring fiction at times, and that happened to me with Fatal Past—but not when I was writing it! I wanted my hero’s (and heroine’s) son to be school-age but not too old, so I picked second grade, which put him at age 7. This is such a fun age, as they are independent and inquisitive, and you start to really see their personalities develop.

Little did I know when I wrote this last fall that I would be teaching twenty-three second graders as a long-term substitute this current school year! I began in mid-September and will continue through early March while their regular teacher is out on maternity leave. It’s been challenging but rewarding as they expand their knowledge and build on their kindergarten and first-grade foundations.

Your turn—how has something you read resonated with you lately? Has a storyline mirrored something happening in your own life?

There is one sentence in this review that has highly increased my interest. “And she has one huge secret that she’s always kept but maybe her truth isn’t the real truth?”

Yes! It’s huge! But remember I said her aunt and uncle were not the best and definitely left her scarred. You’re going to love this suspense novel!
