My Thoughts on The Carpenter’s Schoolmarm
The Carpenter’s Schoolmarm is a wonderful historical fiction novel and the start of a fun series that you’re going to want to check out. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I’m sure you will as well.
Samantha, better known as Sam, is running from an arranged marriage. How she views the world and her life is shaped by her past and what her life has been. It gives her a skewed view of the world.
The carpenter is Michael. And he’s running from his past, too. But his past doesn’t include an arranged marriage, but rather him having been an outlaw. Michael is big and tough, but really a bit of a teddy bear underneath his rough exterior.
I can picture the town that this is set in in my mind. You see, I’ve seen a lot of Kansas small towns, being that Kansas is a mere twenty minutes from my doorstep.
When the past comes knocking at both Sam and Michael’s doors, can they withstand the storm?
I loved this first book in a new series and can’t wait to read the next two.
