My Thoughts on Guarding the Child Witness
I love a good suspense. And it’s a bonus when the suspense novel has a cute kid and a sweet dog. We love having good dogs in our house. We always have two inside dogs, and they’re normally rescues. Currently, we have a rescue that was a PTSD service dog. He’s part Belgian Malinois and part German Shepherd. We’ve had German shepherds up until now besides our first dog in our marriage, who was a bonafied mutt. Our other dog is a one-year-old puppy, a German Shepherd. He’s a bundle of energy and a super sweet dog for our kids. Because yes, we’ve got a lot of kids too!
Kids and dogs just go together in my opinion. Dogs are so good with kids, at least the dogs we’ve had. I have no doubt that my boys would protect my kids if they needed to.
This book was amazing.
It read quickly. The characters sucked me in and would not let me go! I loved Jaysa and her K9. I did think it was different that the social worker was a man, though. In the area I live in, all of the social workers are female; I’ve never seen or heard of a male one. So that offered a unique perspective.
Our hero is actually a heroine named Jaysa and her K9, who find a scared non-verbal child who’s been in a car accident. And the people who caused it are close by! She must work with her ex-fiancé, who is the social worker on the case, to protect the young boy! Can they do it? Can they find the responsible person? And will they find love along the way?!
