My Thoughts on Targeted in the Swamp
Targeted in the Swamp is an amazing, fast-paced suspense novel that you’re not going to want to miss out on reading! It’s also book three in a series. Now I always say to read series in order. But I didn’t this time. I broke my own rule. And now I’m binge-reading the first two in this series because I missed out on things! Learn from my mistake and read them in order.
In this book, we focus on newly to the area Laurel. She’s a wildlife photography ranger. And her first day on the job in her new location, she’s almost killed. When Molly doesn’t meet her on time, she starts off on her own. One minute she’s snapping photos, and the second she’s being chased. And then, she’s being drowned. But the killer is interrupted. She survives. But it’s clear someone wants her dead.
Is it related to her childhood?
To the fact that she’s in Witness Protection? How much can she tell local law enforcement? And why won’t her handler return her phone calls?
Heath responds to the call for help for Laurel. He tussles with the would-be killer. And he knows this guy isn’t going to accept defeat. So he determines to protect Laurel. But he knows she’s hiding something from him. She’s not telling him the truth. How can he get her to trust him?
Add in that Heath is a single parent, and it gets even dicier as the bad guys keep coming.
This book read super quickly. I was hooked immediately. The characters are great. Highly recommend this book and the whole series.
