My Thoughts on The Light of Stars
The Light of Stars is a wonderful historical fiction novel with some romance amidst an arranged marriage and business issues. I really loved getting to know the characters and seeing how circumstances changed them.
Kitty and Sebastian met once upon a time. It was not a good or memorable (for good reasons) meeting. So when the betrothal that the two have had since childhood comes to time Kitty is not impressed. She wants out. But then Sebastian is going to keep it, and Kitty gets to know him as an adult.
Things happen.
Kitty decides to marry Sebastian before he has to go back to India for some issues with the business. The East India Tea Company. That’s the business. I love the history of that company and loved reading more about it as part of this novel.
This is more than just a sweet historical fiction novel.
It is a solid Christian novel as well. You’ll love watching some of the reform and lots of good thoughts.
I love that Kitty is a smart girl. Not just in her head but in the stars and astronomy as well. And she’s not afraid to discuss them. She’s feisty as well. Definitely my kind of girl!
Her relationship with Sebastian was also fun to watch grow and change through the novel.
