Who will pay the ultimate price for Olympic Gold?
LAKE PLACID, N.Y., 1932—Sports journalist Emma Hancock is determined to claim her place in the press box, despite the male colleagues who slam the door in her face. But when a mysterious illness begins systematically sidelining athletes, Emma’s gift for spotting patterns reveals a plot far more sinister than mere competition.
With the Games in his own backyard, Olympic sprinter Ryan Callahan laces up his speed skates to compete in his first Winter Games. He has no time for distractions—especially not the inconvenience of the beautiful female journalist staying as a guest in his family’s crowded home.
But when the pattern of sabotage deepens, Emma and Ryan must work together to follow the threads before they become the next targets to fall.
La Verità con Integrità. Truth with Integrity. The Legacy of a (Girl) Stunt Reporter.
A 1930s Historical Romantic Mystery
This page-turning novel offers a sweet, slow-burn romance mixed with cozy suspense. Set during the historic III Olympic Winter Games—the first year women’s speed skating was featured—it unfolds against the snow-covered, high-stakes press boxes of Lake Placid, New York, in 1932. Perfect for fans of Rhys Bowen and J’nell Ciesielski looking for an inspirational read.

My Thoughts on Sabotage Games
I love this author. And you’re going to love this series. I have not read many books about the Olympics, so this was interesting for me. Winter sports are probably the only sports I would participate in as well. Though I’ve actually never done any of them. I’m not a sports type of person. I love horseback riding, though and all things animals.
So in this novel we get to know Emma. She’s a sports journalist. And obviously she is a woman. So during this time period, most of the reporters are men, and they don’t take kindly to women getting in their space. While she’s not abused, she is ignored and not allowed to be in the reporters’ spaces. But she’s also a killer baseball player!
Emma and her friend and fellow reporter (though Lena is a political reporter) are going out to the Winter Games. They’re staying with a local family that includes two members who are on the teams. Emma is not so sure about staying with them, but she quickly makes friends and even begins to trust them.
Meg is the daughter of the family she’s staying with. Meg is part of the women’s team, which again is not a normal thing for this time period. But she’s super nice and welcoming.
Her brother Ryan is also on the team.
He isn’t so sure about having extra females in his house until he realises he doesn’t want them to go anywhere else and be unsafe. Plus, he feels instant chemistry with Emma.
Oh, and add in a federal agent who has sparks flying with Lena. He’s there for an investigation and wants Emma to feed him some information. Can she do that and stay safe?
What happens when members of the US team start to go down with a strange illness that they’re playing off as food poisoning? Is it really? Or is it something more sinister?
Since this novel takes place in the 1930s, it is pre-WWII, but the Nazi Party is already rising to power and becoming a threat. Will Ryan and Emma stay out of danger? Will they find love along the way?
This is a great novel, and you’re going to love it as much as I did; I guarantee it! Because it’s part of a series, I always recommend reading the whole series in order!
