About the Book Cascade

A fresh start in the Tennessee mountains was supposed to bring peace. Instead, it brought a killer.

Crista Henson fled to a quiet Tennessee town to rebuild her shattered life, trading her past for a fresh start as a vacation planner and a deeper reliance on God. She wants peace. Instead, she finds herself tangled in a deadly web of secrets with enough suspects to challenge Hercule Poirot himself. She never planned on playing amateur sleuth—and she certainly didn’t plan on Sid Martin.

Sid is running from his own devastating past, swearing off the wilderness forever.
But when a friend lures him back, a desperate cry for help and a brutal attempted murder force him to confront his guilt and his fears.

As their investigation expands and danger closes in, can Crista and Sid narrow the suspects in time to prevent their own demise?

My Thoughts on Cascade

I love a good mystery.  Add in suspense, and I’m hooked!  This is book three in a mystery/suspense series.  You definitely need to read this one, and preferably need to read the whole series(in order).

Both of our main characters want a second chance.  They’re both trying to start over.  What they didn’t plan on was someone else having a say in their lives.

Sid and Crista witness a crime. Crista is almost run over.  Bullets fly.

They decide to investigate.

Together.  There are murders, bears, and lots of people bent on violence.  And you’ve got two flawed main characters trying to overcome things in their pasts.  You also get to watch them form a budding romance.  Just a disclosure: there is a lot of kissing.  Nothing more than kissing, though there are hints of that having happened in previous relationships, ie the baggage.

This is a short read, but it’s intense.  It reads quickly.  Lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing.  I’m going to predict that at least 75% of people guess the ending wrong!

I absolutely loved the faith themes in this novel.  They’re not in your face, but they are definitely there and often.  I would recommend it to my friends who don’t read just Christian fiction without hesitation, as I don’t feel it was off-putting and I think they would enjoy the story.

Thinking over the story, I can’t think of a single negative thing to say.  I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I feel you will as well.  Give it a read today!
