Grandma’s Pure and Natural Soap Review!

I recently got the chance to review three great products from Grandma’s Pure and Natural Soaps.  I got to use the Poison Ivy and Oak Bar, Don’t Bug me Bar, and Lye Soap Bar.

Jewelweed grows wild in close proximity to poison ivy throughout much of the United States. For centuries native American peoples have used Jewelweed (Impatiens Capensis) as a natural preventative and treatment for the itch and rashes of poison ivy, oak and sumac. GRANDMA’S now brings this powerful natural remedy to you! Relieves the itch of poison almost immediately and heals the rash in 3-4 days!
I did not personally use this as I don’t get poison ivy, but my husband does get it and he did get to use the soap. He’s been building fence and getting into all kinds of things, poison ivy among them.  He used the soap and said that it did relieve the itching very quickly which is normally the worst problem for him.  It will itch and he’ll scratch spreading it around.  With this soap it stayed contained, didn’t itch, didn’t spread, and cleared up quickly.
GRANDMA’S Don’t Bug Me Bar is a natural solution to an annoying little critter – the mosquito! Using a special formula of essential oils GRANDMA’S Don’t Bug Me Bar repels mosquitoes effectively without the use of DEET or other chemicals. Pleasant smell. Won’t stain clothing.
All three of these soaps worked really well.  I loved the Don’t Bug Me Bar.  It smelled good and kept the bugs off.  It doesn’t say that it works on ticks and chiggers, but I found that it does!  Happy camper here.  We live on a farm and have massive amounts of ticks right now due to it not really getting cold enough to kill them back over the winter.  I found that using the soap ont he kids arms and legs worked well.  I was a little worried that they might still get bitten on the face, but the smell coming off their shoulders seemed to deter those peskies!
You can find Grandma’s Soaps on their website as well as on facebook.

I’d love to try the Don’t Bug Me soap. I love that idea so much better than I do spraying the family down with insect repellant.

Do they just make soaps for the mosquito’s, or do they make a spray too?

I had no idea there were soap products like this. The bug one sounds great, especially for this summer, when we’re Planning to travel to some areas known for loads of bugs. Thanks!

Use these all natural soaps here at our house, and I just love them!

I love that they don’t smell of bug spray:)

The Don’t Bug Me bar sounds like one we need. With summer here and all the pesky insects out in the evening, it makes it hard to enjoy the time outside and I don’t to use bug sprays around the little ones. Thanks for giving a review!

I love that the poison ivy bar worked for your husband! My husband was constantly getting poison ivy when we lived in Maryland. We’ll be moving back there in a couple years so I’ll have to keep this on hand!

I wish my husband and I had this two years ago when we were clearing our yard. It was my first time getting the rash from poison ivy, and horrible! Thank you for sharing!

As far as I know, we aren’t prone to poison ivy either, but I plan to put a bar of this in the camper just in case.

Don’t Bug Me sounds like a summer staple. I’d love to try that.

It’s great that the Don’t Bug Me soap doesn’t have a nasty smell to it like most others do. I find that even if a product works, if the smell makes me nauseous, I won’t use it. Thanks for the review.

I’m glad to hear about it working on ticks. Like you, our family lives on a farm. We have the chickens roaming the yard but they aren’t able to get ALL the bugs out there. Thanks for the giveaway!

Awesome to hear the Don’t Bug Me worked so well; I like that it’s all natural, too. This summer’s been pretty light on biting insects around these parts but I’m definitely keeping these in mind. Thanks for the review.
