My Thoughts on Snowbound Escape

Snowbound Escape is a wonderful fast-paced suspense novel that you are going to love reading! And it ties up a mystery through a series!  The series is the Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series.  This is the eighth book in the series and I believe the conclusion!  I’ve read the whole series, and so have a few of my teens and we were all anxiously awaiting this novel!

Dana Mentink is a favorite mystery/suspense author so we knew it was going to be amazing!

Crime tech Mara has been in hiding for a while.  She was accused of a double homicide which was 100% not her doing.  But she can tell people who did do it.  Only she’s protecting her father by not going to the police.  So what happens when the real killer has her in his sights and wants to shut her up for good?

Tanner and his partner Britta (dog partner) set out to find Mara and get her back to headquarters so they can get her story and catch those who are actually responsible.  But when the killer seems to be a step ahead of them can they truly get back?  And when the weather turns deadly things look even grimmer.

This is one of those books that once you start reading it you’re going to want to keep reading until the end.  So when you grab your copy find a cozy spot to sit with some drinks and snacks and settle in for a quick read!

More from Dana

What a challenge to write the eighth book in this fabulous Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series!

Writing a continuity (linked books with an overarching mystery) with seven other authors requires us to work closely together which is a rare blessing in this solitary business. There were so many good conversations, emails and texts that went into the construction of this series.

Since wilderness escape novels are my favorite, it was great fun to write Tanner, Mara and Boxer Britta’s dramatic survival story. I hope you enjoy the book and the entire series as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you!
