My Thoughts on A Christmas in Shady Springs
A Christmas in Shady Springs is a sweet holiday romance novel that you’re going to love reading as Christmas comes near. This is book three in the Shady Springs series. Do you have to read the rest of the series to enjoy this novel? No, no, you don’t. But it will definitely give you a much more enjoyable reading experience to read three books instead of just one.
Madeleine is focused on having the perfect wedding. She’s dreamed of it her whole life. But everything is going wrong. Nothing is going as she planned. Maybe she shouldn’t be getting married at all?!
While this is a romance novel, it does have some humorous moments as well.
It reads quickly.
The characters are great and very relatable. I loved spending time with them. At times, I wanted to shake my head at Madeleine and remind her about the important things in life.
Maddy, as Madeleine goes by, is a newer Christian, and I think this shows perfectly how our focus is different when we are Christians versus those who aren’t. Maddy has to remember this and get her heart and her head right in order to experience the “perfect” wedding, even if all her plans have gone wrong.
This is a sweet book that I highly recommend. Though I do advocate for reading the whole series as a series, so you get all the backstory from the first two books to help this one make more sense. Plus, reading three books instead of one is a book lover’s dream!
