My Thoughts on Bookmarked for Love

I’m a huge fan of books.  I know, I’m sure you could not figure that out.  This is, after all, a book review.  We also make use of our local library quite often.  I request books that go with our homeschool material, and all of my kids love reading books too.  So, of course, the thought of even a fictional library closing is distressing!

Martha had my heart.  She was willing to fight to keep her library open and keep her job.  I feel that she would have done it even if she didn’t have a chance of keeping her job.  She loves the library and kids that much. 

So she sucks up her pride and goes to see Julien.  She swore before she’d never see him again.  But he has the money that her library needs.  He also has a need of his own.  So he agrees to her plan only if she will help him.  He needs to find a bestselling manuscript for a kids’ book for his family’s publishing company.  She agrees. 

I loved the characters!  Very relatable and fun to connect with.  The book moved along quickly, which kept me interested and reading.  There are a few common themes in this novel, like a childhood crush and an age gap.  

Some things to know. 

Our characters are middle-aged.  He’s upper 40s, and she’s almost 40.  Martha is also plus-size, and Julien has grey hair.  It almost felt like there was a bit too much said about Martha’s size. 

I enjoyed the characters and their interactions.  This is the third book in a series but it can be read as a stand-alone novel.
