A police officer will do anything to catch the serial killer that got away—even if it means playing a deadly game in the icy wilderness.

Sweetwood Falls, Yukon, has seen too much terror for one small town. Corporal Aurora Hunt still blames herself for not catching the Shadow Box Killer before five women lost their lives. The killings stopped two years ago, and her colleagues believe the murderer is dead. But Aurora isn’t convinced.

A chilling discovery on a winter’s morning confirms her fears. The crime scene is all too familiar—a woman’s mutilated body, and beneath it, a box containing a gruesome souvenir. But this time, there’s a special message, daring Aurora to play a game that will lead her into the wilderness to try to save the next victim.

Canadian Watcher Squad survivalist Kordell Greene is part of the past that Aurora has tried to put behind her. He’s also the only person equipped to guide her through this deadly terrain. But somehow, the killer knows all their secrets. Solving cryptic clues as they battle the elements, Aurora and Kordell must confront dark truths they’ve withheld, even from each other. And always, the Shadow Box Killer is one step ahead, drawing them deeper into a twisted game where the slightest mistake may be their last.

My Thoughts on Coordinates of Death

Coordinates of Death is a wonderful suspense novel that will have you on the edge of your seat as you try to figure it all out!  It definitely twists and turns through the pages and leaves you guessing as to what comes next.

This is book two of a series.  You should read book one first.  However, you can read this one as a standalone and still understand everything that is going on.  I’m a huge fan of always reading more books instead of fewer, so I will always advocate for reading the entire series in order.

I quickly fell in love with the characters!

Aurora Hunt failed to catch a killer.  And it still haunts her.  So when he comes back and is targeting her, she is determined to catch him.  She wounded him before, but this time she’ll see him behind bars.

But what she doesn’t count on is the killer making this a game.  The Shadow Box Killer is giving her clues to reach his next victim before it’s too late.  Or is he?  Is he really just setting up traps?  And are they even alive still?

When she’s told she can’t involve law enforcement, Aurora turns to a friend from her childhood.  Kordell Greene is part of the Canadian Watcher Group.  And he brings a unique skill set that will help her.  He’s trained in wilderness survival, and she will need his help to get to the coordinates they’re being sent to.

Will Aurora and Kordell catch the killer?  Or will he remain a step ahead of them?  And who within the station is feeding information to the killer?

This read so quickly.

I loved this novel.  I could not put it down.  And I didn’t want to.  The characters are amazing and really reach out to you.  I felt like they were my friends, and I could not wait to see how they did.  It was intense watching the clues come in and seeing whether they could reach the location before the next victim died.  Also, the killer has knowledge that he shouldn’t have.  How is he getting it?

Both our main characters have to come to terms with their mutual past. It’s quite the past that they share.  And they each have secrets to share with the other.  But how does the killer know both of their secrets?
