Practice Writing with Channie’s Dry Erase Cards

Homeschool Review Crew

Ready to dive into preschool?  Or maybe you have a kindergartener?  Let them have fun while they practice writing with these fun dry erase cards!  Recently through the Homeschool Review Crew we were offered a review with Channie’s Visual Handwriting and Math Workbooks.  We received two physical sets of dry erase cards to use and review.  These two sets are Channie’s Dry Erase Flashcard For Alphabet & Number and Channie’s Dry Erase Flashcard for Sight Words.  They fit the perfect level for preschool and kindergarten and have gotten a lot of use in our house!

About the Cards

We received two sets of dry erase cards to help us practice writing both letters, numbers, and sight words too.

The first set of cards is for the alphabet and numbers.  These are geared to ages three and up but best for ages 4-7.  My toddler is three and he’s tentatively doing some preschool work.  He loved the coloring on these but really didn’t get the gist of tracing them.  So I would agree that though they can be used by those aged three that they are best for kids who are older.

Secondly, we received the sight words dry erase cards for helping practice writing.  These are geared for ages three and up as well, but honestly, there is no way my three-year-old could even try them.  Again, he really did like scribbling on the dry erase cards though!  Now, my kindergarten daughter loved using both sets of cards.  The best age for these are five and six-year-olds or someone who is in the second half of kindergarten.

The two sets of dry erase cards can be used for practice writing or as flashcards for letter, number, and word recognition.  Alphabet card set contains 36 cards as it covers the alphabet and numbers up to 10.  The set of sight words covers the top 100 sight words.

Our Thoughts

These dry erase cards are really nice.  They’re a thicker card so they don’t rip or tear easily.  In fact, we haven’t had anything happen to any of them yet which is really nice for me.

My kids love using them.  I’m always finding one of them working on them.  They are great for in the car as well!  If you have a child who will be writing on the cards that is, I definitely would not let my toddler do them in the car as he would have dry erase marker all over himself!

So when I say I’m always finding someone working on them it isn’t always my kindergartener.  My two girls who are nine really like these as well.

Practice Writing

One likes to practice writing sight words.  She calls it her spelling and handwriting practice.  This is fine with me.  She is actually advanced for her age and doing 5th to 6th-grade coursework but if she wants to practice writing I’m definitely okay with it.

My other nine-year-old daughter is delayed for her age and really is more along the lines of kindergarten/first-grade level.  So these are definitely the level she should be doing right now.  I like that doing these doesn’t make her feel like a baby.  She likes doing them and it makes her feel special to have a special school product she can use.  And of course, she loves that she can make them colorful by choosing different dry erase markers!

So, we love these dry erase cards.  We definitely recommend them for fun writing practice.  If you have a child who needs to practice writing their alphabet or needs help recognizing the letters of the alphabet I think this would be perfect for you.
